Design

Positioned in a prime location in Peninsula Bay, this contemporary holiday home surveys Lake Wanaka to the Southern Alps and beyond. The effect is breath-taking and instantly relaxing.

The first two bedrooms reside on the lower level, which is cleverly nestled into the site. This area is ideal for accommodating family and friends. The master bedroom is situated on the third floor whilst the living and dining is on the middle level all with outstanding views to the Wanaka mountains and lake.

Glass sliders pull back for full enjoyment of the outdoors the street facing deck is lined with glass balustrades in uninterrupted views. The entertainer’s kitchen is cool in warming wood. Windows act as a splashback while welcoming in the light.

Ascending a further set of floating steps, you’ll discover the second living space and a modern master bedroom.

Materials

A warming ply staircase beckons visitors to the open place second level. Here, the stunning sense of openness takes hold. Swathes of glass create a seamless link between inside and out. Exposed beams and black joinery define the space nicely. Full length vertical cedar bunkers the home into the ground. The interior has gaboon plywood floors which had warmth and texture.
