Architectural home extension, Wanaka.

Design

The additions to this home include an expansive kitchen, living, dining area, master bedroom with ensuite, and separate sleep out. New life has been brought into the cherished family space whilst retaining the existing relationship between the owner, the home and the land. The extension is natural, comfortable and functional, as though it's always been there.

Living

The open plan kitchen, dining, living area is surrounded by full height windows to take in the infinite views over Lake Wanaka. The space invokes an overwhelming sense of freedom.

The living area leads out on to the large deck, sheltered by over-sized eaves which replicate the original design.

Materials

The extension matches the existing house with Rosenfeld Kidson vertical cedar cladding and plaster.

The interior boasts a blackened steel feature wall and polished concrete floor. The IMO KXN kitchen is black powder coated steel with engineered stone and stainless steel bench tops.
