Deluxe Best Colour and Detail Award

A distinctly modern take on the much loved traditional Kiwi bach, this intimate and unassuming home carries award winning detailing executed with precision.

Composed of two gables and a chisel roof surrounding three outdoor courtyards - each forming a unique relationship with the home interior. Comfortably sleeping ten people within a footprint of 150m2 this house was designed with and for the family it was built for. The kitchen is the anchor of the house and epitomizes the relationship between house and owner with details such as kauri timber drawers and tiles from their former restaurant.

The striking facade is created with Rosenfeld Kidson Cedarscreen Horizontal Weatherboards. Bold mustard detailing and a razor-thin fascia complete the design. The interior is lined with a combination of southern beech, recycled kauri, rimu, plywood and terrazzo. Dark concrete floors lead out to the local stone paved courtyards.
